FAQs
-
Acne is a complex disorder of the skin that can be triggered by many factors such as; diet, lifestyle, genetics, environment etc. The disorder starts in the pore where it sheds dead skin cells faster than the body can keep up. This leads to a microcomedone (the start of all acne) that shows up as congestion, blackheads, or pimples 90 days later.
If bacteria is present, it will feed on the oil and lead to inflamed acne.
-
It takes 90 days for acne to develop into the visible blackhead or pimple you see, so treatments we do now will help prevent new breakouts from forming 90 days from now.
We follow a proven system using face reality that will get your acne under control in 3-6 months ( in most cases).
We will work together to determine the type of acne and the internal/external triggers and formulate a plan to help you achieve clear skin.
Getting clear will take commitment!

Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete the intake forms. You and your skin therapist will go over your forms together during an in-depth consultation and skin analysis.
From there, your skin therapist will address your acne during the facial and curate a treatment plan for you to follow both in office and at home.
The acne facial will consist of a thorough cleansing, a mild corrective peel formulated to reduce acne blemishes and clogged pores. Then we perform extractions of your existing acne. We finish the treatment with a soothing mask or cold globe therapy and led light to reduce inflammation, heal, and soothe the skin.
-
You can expect to experience some discomfort at times, usually when we perform extractions. For most, the discomfort is minimal. Your skin therapist will check in with you and adjust pressure as needed. Your treatment will end with a soothing mask and led light to calm inflammation.

Acne can form anywhere on the body where we have sebaceous glands. Typically, we see acne on the face, chest, shoulders, back, and buttock.
We offer treatments for acne wherever it forms and can customize a plan to help keep it under control.
