A Light chemical peel (lunch time peel) - very superficial, has little to no irritation, commonly no visible exfoliation, and you can return to work immediately following the treatment. This is our level I peel which is usually a gentle or single acid such as; glycolic, mandelic, or lactic acid or, an enzyme peel which is a natural derivative of fruit.
level I chemical peels at Skinv are great for beginners, mild skin conditions, and those who don't have time for long healing. You may experience some redness like a mild sunburn, but that will typically goes away within a few hours to a day.
A more balanced complexion and improved texture may be noticed immediately, but best results are usually seen with a series.
Light- medium chemical peels (weekend peel) superficial-medium depth- very little downtime, usually 1-3 days as these acids are a bit stronger and able to penetrate deeper.
As with any treatment, the recovery time depends on the individual and their healing process. You may experience redness like a mild to moderate sunburn and lite swelling, but that will usually subside in 1-4 days. Visible shedding of the skin is more likely to take place within a week of the treatment and dryness and itchiness can occur as the skin is healing.
We recommend you take some needed "me" time, and avoid rigorous activity for at least 48 hours. Avoid direct sun, wear sunscreen, and do not pick the shedding skin. One treatment may provide benefits, but a series is usually recommended spaced 3-6 weeks apart.

After a thorough consultation and skin analysis, your Aesthetician may recommend pre-treatment homecare two weeks prior to appointment. This may be needed to properly prepare the skin to reduce unwanted side effects.
To prepare to receive a chemical from Skinv in Largo, discontinue the use of professional or OTC topicals such as; glycolic, salicylic acid, or retinol 5-7 days prior to a chemical peel.
Discontinue prescription topicals such as Retin-A and other vitamin a derivatives, steroid cream, or hydroquinone 2 weeks prior to your chemical peel.
Supplements may also be recommended. If you have ever had a cold sore, we recommend you take antiviral medication prior and after your chemical peel to prevent a possible breakout.
